The weird thing is that i did get the items the first day on my characters with /bonusitems but now i do not get them. maybe they are blocked now till nightfall or maybe they are buged I just wait and see i gues.

I would just like there to be some mention in the key management window that it was successfully entered.

I entered it - saw the warning, clicked Add anyway, no bonus items (don't really care anyway), but no indication if the key will grant me my slot when I add a full retail Nightfall key.

Let me preface this post by saying that I have not picked up a pre-order pack because the employees at the EB near my house are denying it's existance.

I don't want to insult anyone by suggesting this, but when I put in my preorder key before Factions officially came out, I was pissed that the bonus items didn't appear. But I soon realized that they only spawned if you were outside of town (or was it inside, I'll have to go back and check). In either case, it was very specific to being in the right location for it to pop up. So I suggest trying that. Maybe when those who didn't get the items tried it, they were in the wrong spot and concluded that their keys didn't work, while those who did get their items were in the right spot by chance and therefore could not offer up anything more than the fact that the keys do in fact work. Worth a shot?

I think if you delete them then goto the character you want them on use the command again. As far as I know you need to do this in a town also. Thats how it works with the factions ones anyway.

Like I've said in so many other thread; the bug was that anyone (like you and me

) was able to spawn the weapons at all. Not that people can't spawn them now. And they patched that bug after a few hours.

Thanks for the reports. We're aware of two things: The error message (the words for which I believe are in error

) and the fact that the bonus items are not on your account.

In the case of the message, we used to say "The event hasn't started" or "These items are not yet available." If we did not/do not intend for the items to be available until either (1) the World Preview Event or (2) the release of Nightfall, then I imagine we'll modify the message to let you know that.

Edit to Amend (due to "breaking news"

): In the case of the bonus items actually being accessible and usable and then becoming inaccessible, Knightsaber Sith just linked me to an image that clearly calls out that the items are intended "upon activation of a Nightfall retail key." So, like the bonus character slot, you will need to wait until you add your Nightfall (full game, not PBP) retail key and then you can acquire the items.

It would be nice if under the keys management screen, there was some indication that the key was entered successfully, since a lot of people received the warning and clicked Add anyway.

Yes their needs to be something that says the preorder kit key was activated under keys management. Because there is nothing stated people are opening up support tickets to Account Support. Also the information on Key activation is ambiguous at best. This should be simple you enter the Key you get the items, and the extra slot noted with the words “upon activation of Nightfall Retail Key”. This would be very helpful.

Also on a personal note thank you Gaile for responding to this thread. I am sure the great team at ANET will address this issue.

I think I see why my posts get erased; it’s because they think I attack character “credibility” here (that’s madness, especially if they let other people get away with it). If we can’t have a civil debate amongst our peer’s please say so, or at least be fair.

Anyways I went a little too far calling them scammers, that was meant as target anger for happened to me; as well as that one guy calling out people as being “dense.” However it would have been nice to have seen this in writing, before we put in the key; thinking we might at least get the one character slot ahead of time. At least for myself I know that probably was not going to happen, but it would have been nice to at least see this bonus key appear under the “mange key window.” However I do not believe giving the retailers the option to sell the pre-release package (for what ever dollar amount) the best action, if you think about it, we might not have these problems we are having now. Especially since some of the retailers taking well advantage of the issue and selling them for over a standard rate of $10; also the fact that these keys will only be activated when the primal release of nightfall is due (and after entering the main retail version key).

Actually they had announced that you wouldn't get the character slot til you added a retail key a few weeks before the bonus pack went on sale.

There is no need to delete them off of one character to get them for another on that account. For these items (pre-order or gold edition weapons), simply typing in /preorder in town will spawn the weapons on that character. It does not matter if that character can not actually use the weapons and all characters on that account may have a copy of the weapons.

However, as was mentioned earlier - the Nightfall items wont actually be available until later.

Maybe you mean that whole section in the bonus key section where it states “…unlock these exclusive features when you play Guild Wars Nightfall” (a bit vague don’t you think?). Ah I see, but does that mean that it’s not supposed to show up in this section of the game:

Me yelling? I'm very laid back and relaxed. You're the one harping over the stupid key management screen. There is no rule saying that when a person makes a number of statements in a post you have to comment on every single one.

I'm not trying to prove you wrong at all; I never said you were wrong. I simply stated that the fact that you wouldn't instantly get the character slot had already been confirmed before the bonus pack went on sale and that's an undeniable fact. I didn't twist your words and I certainly had nothing to benefit. I never said you were whining; I said that if I had commented on it (the whole issue of it not showing up in key management) we would've gotten into an argument whining back and forth and I'm not here to just pick a fight. I was simply stating a fact.

You've obviously been pouncing on my posts with such fervor cause you're really fired up about this issue and no one else cares enough to even reply to your comments. You seem to just want to argue and for the final time; that's not why I'm here; I was just stating a fact that didn't require any reply at all.
